After needing a secondary detox yesterday in two weeks along with a few other tonics, I totally second my sons prayer last night:
Thank you God for stuffed animals to cuddle with - even though we don't really need them.
Honest prayer and gratitude for every good things is a difficult discipline to master. So, what are you grateful for today?
I am so greatful for the snow falling and my family all here.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago (when I went to get Becki from college) I was passing by Fancy Gap, Virginia and there was so much fog you could not see the valley at all. I was in the mountains above it and it looked like an ocean of clouds. I was so amazed! I thanked God as I drove by because it was so beautiful and peaceful and I thought that this must be a small glimpse of what it is like in heaven. Looking down through the clouds at the earth and seeing only beauty and peacefulness. I was almost brought to tears as I thanked God for sharing that moment with me! I also wondered if the other cars that were on the road with me even noticed the presence of God in their midst.
Fancy Gap is in some of my fondest memories as well. We use to always stop there on the way to PA. My favorite time was when I was 14 or 15. Great Grandma (Snyder) and I shared a room and stayed up for hours giggling and telling stories. I'm very grateful for that!
ReplyDeleteI drove thru the snow on the interstate for the first time. I was amazed how everything looked beautiful. What I thought was going to be scary trip turned out to be an amazing journey praising God and seeing how He can change something scary into something beautiful. I am thankful I made it and I did it. Don't let your fears keep your from experiencing the trip God has planned for you.
