The Lord gave me a very interesting passage to read today considering it's Black Friday here in the USA. I have to be honest and say I really didn't want to put this passage up because I was afraid of sounding too judgmental. Then I realized that really I wasn't. These are God's words- not mine. Yes, He brought them to my attention today, but as a reminder and encouragement to me. I am merely sharing.

15 Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. Because everything that belongs to the world— 16 the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one's lifestyle—is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does God's will remains forever.
